Internet Explorer Troubleshooting

Start e-Access troubleshooting by verifying your Internet Explorer settings.

  • We do not support the built-in AOL browser. After connection please minimize AOL and select one of the supported browsers.
  • Please have all pop-up blocker software turned off during your e-Access session or allow https://pcaccess.silverstatecu.com/
  • After any of the following settings changes are made you MUST close ALL Internet Explorer Browser windows for them to take affect.

Determine which version of Internet Explorer you're using:

  1. Check for version (Click on the following options)
    1. Select Help
    2. Select About Internet Explorer
    3. A new window will appear that will display the version

Internet Explorer 6 Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Enable cookies (Click on the following options)
    1. Tools
    2. Internet Options
    3. Privacy Tab
    4. Advanced
    5. Override automatic cookie handling
    6. Always allow session cookies
    7. OK
  2. Clear Cache (Click on the following options)
    1. Tools
    2. Internet Options
    3. General tab (default)
    4. Delete Cookies
    5. OK
    6. Delete files
    7. Delete all off line content
    8. OK
    9. Settings
    10. Select Every visit to the page
    11. Change amount of disk space to use in Temporary Internet file folder section to 1 MB
    12. OK
    13. OK
  3. Set trusted sites (Click on the following options)
    1. Tools
    2. Internet Options
    3. Security
    4. Trusted Sites
    5. Default Level
    6. Sites
    7. Type in https://pcaccess.silverstatecu.com
    8. Add
    9. OK
    10. OK
    11. After changes have been made you MUST close ALL open Internet Explorer browsers before trying to log back into e-Access and verify that a green arrow with the phrase "Trusted Sites" appears in the status bar at the bottom right corner of the browser window.
  4. SSL Versions
    1. Tools
    2. Internet Options
    3. Advanced
    4. Scroll to the bottom
    5. Verify that Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 are both selected
    6. OK
  5. Clear Stored Password and User names (Click on the following options)
    1. Tools
    2. Internet Options
    3. Content Tab
    4. Auto complete
    5. Deselect User name and password on forms
    6. Clear forms*
    7. OK
    8. Clear Passwords**
    9. OK
    10. OK

* This is highly recommended. However, please note, this will clear out all previously entered form information for every site you have entered information for.

Internet Explorer 7 Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Clearing Cache:
    1. Click on Tools
    2. Click on Internet Options
    3. Click on the "Delete..." button
    4. Click the "Delete Files..." button
    5. Click the "Delete Cookies" button
  2. Resetting Security Zones
    1. Click on Tools
    2. Click on Internet Options
    3. Click on the "Security" tab
    4. Click on the "Reset all zones to default level" button
  3. Enabling Session Cookies
    1. Click on Tools
    2. Click on Internet Options
    3. Click on the "Privacy" tab
    4. Click on the "Advanced" button
    5. Check the "Override automatic cookie handling" checkbox
    6. Make sure "First-party Cookies" and "Third-party Cookies" are both set to "Accept"
    7. Check the "Always allow session cookies" checkbox
    8. Click the "OK" button

Internet Explorer 8 Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Clearing Cache:
    1. Click on Tools
    2. Click on Internet Options
    3. Click on the "Delete..." button
    4. Uncheck the "Preserve Favorites website data" checkbox
    5. Check the "Temporary Internet files" checkbox
    6. Check the "Cookies" checkbox
    7. Click on the "Delete" button
  2. Resetting Security Zones
    1. Click on Tools
    2. Click on Internet Options
    3. Click on the "Security" tab
    4. Click on the "Reset all zones to default level" button
  3. Enabling Session Cookies
    1. Click on Tools
    2. Click on Internet Options
    3. Click on the "Privacy" tab
    4. Click on the "Advanced" button
    5. Check the "Override automatic cookie handling" checkbox
    6. Make sure "First-party Cookies" and "Third-party Cookies" are both set to "Accept"
    7. Check the "Always allow session cookies" checkbox
    8. Click the "OK" button
